Every kind of train
Manifests, intermodals, coal, locals, work trains, passenger service and heritage units all help someone nearby.
See what's rolling, right now.
RailMonNA is a community map where railfans share recent train sightings across North America: what was seen, and where it was last reported.
Accountable reporters
Accounts carry public usernames, and review tools flag reports that look wrong or unsafe.
Live passenger data
Amtrak, VIA Rail and Brightline positions appear alongside community reports.
Keep RailMonNA running
RailMonNA is free and has no ads. Hosting, maps and live train data cost money every month. If the map is useful to you, you can support it through GitHub Sponsors, one time or monthly. Reporting, the map, alerts and the train database stay free for everyone.
Support RailMonNASafety first
Use RailMonNA only from lawful public locations. Never trespass, enter railroad property, interfere with crews, or distract drivers.
